European leader in lithium-ion battery production opens US subsidiary in Texas

Inauguration of Flash Battery Inc., the US subsidiary based in Texas.

Italian lithium battery manufacturer Flash Battery has established a new subsidiary in Houston, Texas, expanding its presence in the U.S. market, which currently accounts for 35% of the company’s turnover through direct and indirect sales.

Flash Battery Inc., officially established in 2023, will be led by a board of directors chaired by Marco Righi, CEO of Flash Battery, alongside Filippo Di Gregorio as Chief Operating Officer and Andrea Pongolini as Executive Vice President of Sales of E80 Group in the U.S.

“The choice of Houston as headquarters is strategic with respect to our plans for development, and above all for after-sales service to support the American, Mexican and Canadian markets, which represent a fast-growing market for us,” said Righi, whose company achieved a turnover of 34 million euros in 2023.

While research and production will remain at the company’s headquarters in Sant’Ilario d’Enza, Italy, where more than 120 employees work in development, the Houston office will focus on strengthening customer relations and providing remote assistance across the NAFTA market. The new facility includes a warehouse and employs skilled technicians who service the region.

The expansion will support key partners including E80 Group, a multinational intralogistics solutions provider based in Reggio Emilia, which Righi described as “not just our main customer, but a true development partner.”

Looking ahead, Flash Battery sees growth opportunities in the U.S. construction and logistics automation sectors. The company is also exploring opportunities in the airport market, particularly for vehicles moving goods and passengers at airports.

The Houston office will help eliminate service delays caused by time zone differences and gather market intelligence to inform product innovation for the North American market.
