Enso partners with i247 to expand EV tire network

Enso is the only Certified B-Corporation in the tire industry, a highly polluting industry

London-based EV tyre manufacturer Enso has formed a partnership with i247 Group to expand access to its EV-specific tyres across the UK through more than 4,000 fitting centers.

The agreement includes major retailers like Halfords and provides mobile fitting services for fleet vehicles. The partnership aims to serve the growing commercial EV market with tyres designed for high-mileage applications.

Independent testing during Transport for London trials showed Enso’s tyres can extend EV range by up to 10% while reducing particulate pollution by up to 35% compared to standard tyres, according to testing by Emissions Analytics. The tyres are rated two levels above typical replacement options for performance and safety.

“Choosing the right tyre can lead to significant cost savings every mile,” said Enso CEO Gunnlaugur Erlendsson. “Our fleet-first approach ensures high-mileage EV drivers have access to affordable tyres that last longer, increase EV range, and reduce pollution, putting more cash in drivers’ pockets and directly tackling tyre pollution.”

i247 Group Managing Director Sam Mason said the partnership gives fleet operators access to technology that “improves efficiency, safety, and sustainability whilst reducing the total cost of ownership for EV fleet operators.”

The deal follows Enso’s recent three-year strategic partnership with Uber to provide discounted tyres to thousands of UK and US drivers through a dedicated Buyer’s Club, supporting Uber’s transition to EVs.

Enso is also establishing a presence in the US with plans for a $500 million carbon-neutral tyre factory scheduled to open in 2027. The facility aims to produce over five million tyres annually and create more than 600 jobs to support the global shift toward electric mobility.

The company, a previous finalist for The Earthshot Prize, specializes in tyres engineered for high-mileage commercial EVs including delivery vans and ride-hail vehicles.
