The car offers a total installed power of more than 1,184bhp

The Italian marque – which celebrates its 110th birthday this year – unveiled the car that will be taking a leading role in Maserati’s electric era at an event in Modena, Italy. The GranCabrio Folgore is a 100% fully electric convertible and the first in the luxury segment and the fastest on the market. Also on show was the GranTurismo Folgore, the brand’s first fully electrified vehicle, and the Grecale Folgore, the first 100% electric SUV in the Trident’s history, completing the company’s current full-electric offerings.

Powered by the Folgore system, boasting 800V technology and harnessing cutting-edge solutions derived from Formula E, the GranCabrio delivers outstanding performance. Equipped with three potent 300-kW permanent magnet motors, it seamlessly combines power with the signature comfort and elegance synonymous with Maserati.

The GranCabrio’s technical architecture, akin to the GranTurismo’s, employs innovative lightweight materials such as aluminium, magnesium, and high-performance steel. This multi-material approach, coupled with new manufacturing processes, ensures best-in-class weight levels, enhancing both performance and efficiency.

Central to the GranCabrio’s advanced features is the Atlantis High electrical/electronic architecture, previously introduced in the GranTurismo. Utilizing canFD messages at speeds of up to 2 ms, the system offers advanced cyber-security and over-the-air update capabilities. The Vehicle Domain Control Module (VDCM) master controller, powered by Maserati-designed software, provides comprehensive control of crucial car systems, optimizing the driving experience across diverse conditions.

Inside the cabin, innovative systems abound, including the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) multimedia system, cutting-edge infotainment, an integrated Comfort display, a Digital Clock, and an optional Heads-up Display. Moreover, Maserati’s iconic engine signature sound is seamlessly integrated into the electric version, thanks to pioneering work by engineers at the Maserati Innovation Lab, complemented by the immersive Sonus faber 3D sound system.
