Verge Motorcycles pushes EV boundaries with new world record

Verge Motorcycles has established a new Guinness World Record for the longest journey by an electric motorcycle on a single charge. The company’s TS Pro model traveled nearly 311 kilometers in London on March 22, 2025, surpassing the previous record.

“This world record is an amazingly proud moment for the entire Verge team,” said Verge Motorcycles CMO Lauri Laukkanen. “We have been developing the efficiency, driveability, and features of our motorbikes for years, and we wanted to show the world that anything is possible. This record is a concrete demonstration of what our unique technology and proprietary architecture are actually capable of.”

The record attempt was conducted by experienced EV specialists Sam Clarke and Sara Sloman, who are well-known industry influencers. Their journey lasted just over 16 hours, taking them through suburban areas within London’s M25 ring road under typical urban traffic conditions including congestion, traffic lights, and pedestrian crossings.

The motorcycle’s journey was monitored with a precision tracking system provided by Webfleet, which collected data throughout the record-breaking performance. Content production company Generate Media documented the event, while the Automobile Association (AA) ensured the bike remained operational throughout the drive.

“It is noteworthy that, even after setting a new world record, the motorbike battery still had about seven percent of charge remaining,” Laukkanen explained. “That means that the bike could have gone even further, but the team decided to stop to ensure the reliability of the data after driving for 16 hours and breaking the record.”

The record demonstrates significant progress in electric motorcycle technology, particularly in terms of range capabilities, which has been a critical limiting factor for widespread adoption of electric two-wheelers.
