The all-new ES90 is the first electric Volvo that's not a pure SUV.

Volvo has unveiled the new ES90, a fully electric vehicle that bridges the gap between sedan, fastback, and SUV. Designed to offer the best features of all three categories, the ES90 combines a sleek sedan profile, an adaptable fastback shape, and the spacious interior and higher ground clearance of an SUV. According to the marque the result is a versatile, no-compromise car that aims to balance everyday practicality with a premium driving experience.

The ES90 introduces a range of technological innovations. Notably, it is the first Volvo model to incorporate 800-volt technology, enhancing both charging speed and driving range. The new system allows the ES90 to add 300 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes of charging at fast stations and offers a total range of up to 700 kilometers under the WLTP testing cycle. Additionally, the vehicle is powered by dual NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin processors, which provide significant computational power for safety systems and performance features.

“The Volvo ES90 combines our most advanced technologies with Scandinavian design and superior comfort,” said Jim Rowan, CEO of Volvo Cars. “It joins the EX90 SUV as one of our flagship models and strengthens our position as an industry leader in software-defined cars.”

Inside, the ES90 is equipped with a 14.5-inch central touchscreen powered by Google’s Android system, offering services like Google Maps and Google Assistant. The car’s cabin features premium materials, with generous legroom for second-row passengers and a range of customization options, including six ambient lighting themes. For improved comfort, the ES90 also includes a four-zone climate system with an air purifier certified as asthma and allergy friendly.

Safety is a key priority for Volvo, and the ES90 incorporates advanced systems such as radars, cameras, and lidar sensors to help avoid collisions. New features include a door-opening alert to protect pedestrians and cyclists, as well as occupant sensing technology that can detect even the smallest movements, such as the soft breathing of a baby.

The Volvo ES90 is now available for order in selected markets, with additional countries to follow in 2026.
