Wednesday 27th March 2024, 3pm GMT | 4pm CET | 10AM EST | 7AM PST

Join Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology International and Thermo Fisher for their first webinar here.

The introduction of stricter emission standards is one of the key drivers to evolving electric vehicle battery technology, and battery manufactures are striving to deliver longer ranges and faster recharging without compromising safety. During production, variations in active material loading and imperfections along the electrode edges can lead to poor battery performance and impact safety. A new technique is transforming electrode coating analysis. By providing previously inaccessible levels of data and traceability through precise, real-time measurement of electrode coatings across the entire edge-to-edge profile at a millisecond rate, it enables battery manufacturers to improve and control their process and ensure reliable and high-quality batteries are produced.

Presented by Chuck Blanchette, Product Marketing Manager for the Flat Sheet Gauging Business, Web Applications, who is responsible for the external support of the product portfolio and training worldwide. He has worked for Thermo Fisher Scientific for over 30 years in various development engineering, product management and marketing positions and has a wealth of experience in gauging, web applications, manufacturing processes and instrument and sensor design.

Attendees will learn
• Current challenges in electrode coating manufacturing
• Introduction to a new metrology technique
• Comparison of in-line electrode quality control techniques
• Benefits of new electrode coating analysis technique
• Different applications of new electrode coating analysis technique
