Electric delivery firm orders Mercedes fleet for UK network

Hived is the only delivery company to operate an all-electric fleet across the middle and final mile

Electric parcel delivery company Hived has ordered 11 Mercedes-Benz eActros trucks to expand its electric delivery network across the UK. The order, placed through Mercedes-Benz dealer Motus Truck & Van, includes nine eActros 600 and two eActros 400 models. The eActros 600, which recently won International Truck of the Year 2025, will join Hived’s nationwide middle-mile fleet, transporting parcels between retailer warehouses and customers.

“This is a major moment for the logistics industry,” says Hived co-founder and Chief Product Officer Mathias Krieger. “In an industry where the status quo is to run a mixed fleet at best, Hived is the first delivery company to operate an all-electric delivery network across the middle and final delivery mile.”

The eActros 600’s battery capacity exceeds 600 kWh, providing a range of 500 kilometers (310 miles) on a single charge. To support the new fleet, Hived will install megawatt charging stations at its hubs in West London, the Midlands, and Manchester over the next year. These stations will charge the vehicles from 20% to 80% capacity in 30 minutes, making electric HGVs more competitive with diesel alternatives.

Stuart Jeggo, Sales & Marketing Director of Daimler Truck UK Limited, noted that Hived’s “rapid growth in the UK is extremely impressive,” adding that he looks forward to seeing the vehicles “on the road later this year.”

The investment demonstrates the growing viability of EVs in commercial transport. James Venables, Head of Future Sustainability at Daimler Truck UK Limited, describes Hived’s commitment to all-electric delivery as “a great example of how switching to electric trucks can improve sustainability of any company, particularly in the delivery sector.”

With this expansion of its electric middle-mile capacity, Hived continues to develop its position in sustainable logistics, as Krieger notes the company is “redefining what a modern delivery company looks like.”
