Stellantis introduces redesigned C-SUV built on new STLA Medium platform with multiple powertrain options.
Jeep has revealed the latest evolution of its Compass model, built on Stellantis’ new STLA Medium platform specifically designed for electrification. Production of the redesigned C-SUV continues at the Melfi plant in Italy, with European sales beginning first before expanding to global markets.
The new Compass will offer multiple powertrain options, including a 145 HP 48V hybrid, a 195 HP plug-in hybrid, and three all-electric versions. The electric models range from 213 HP with front-wheel drive to a high-performance 375 HP all-wheel drive variant with up to 650 km range. Fast-charging capability enables 20-80% recharging in 30 minutes.
At 4.55 meters long, the new Compass provides more interior space than its predecessor, with 55 mm additional legroom and increased cargo capacity of up to 550 liters. The model maintains its off-road capability with ground clearance of up to 200 mm and improved approach, breakover, and departure angles.
Standard technology features include a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, 16-inch infotainment display, and Level 2 autonomous driving assistance. The Compass will receive over-the-air updates throughout its lifecycle.
“The new Jeep Compass boldly represents the brand’s forward-thinking philosophy, highlighting our dedication to not only meeting today’s market demands but also anticipating tomorrow’s opportunities,” said Fabio Catone, Head of Jeep Brand in Enlarged Europe. “This vehicle is the perfect expression of the Jeep ruggedness and performance, delivering state-of-the-art solutions while preserving our commitment to electrification and sustainability.”
The new Compass arrives as Jeep experiences growth in Europe, with 132,000 units sold in 2024. Sales outside Italy increased by nearly 10 percentage points last year, with the UK market tripling sales and markets like France and the Netherlands seeing 50% growth compared to 2023.
A limited First Edition will be available initially with either the 48V hybrid powertrain or the 213 HP electric option. These versions will include distinctive features such as 20-inch wheels, LED matrix headlights, and enhanced safety systems.
