Evice Technologies has signed a letter of intent with Twisted Automotive to supply EV architecture for Twisted’s vehicle lineup, marking a partnership between two British automotive specialists focused on electric conversions of classic Land Rover models.
Under the agreement, Twisted will access Evice Technologies’ electrification hardware and software, along with battery and drivetrain expertise. The collaboration will include prototype engineering, testing, and production supply services, demonstrating the versatility of Evice’s electrification platform for automotive applications.
Matthew Pearson, chief executive officer of Evice Technologies, said the partnership aligns with both companies’ approaches to vehicle development. “Charles and the Twisted team are obsessed with perfecting the Land Rover driving experience,” Pearson said. “This aligns perfectly with our belief that electrification must build upon and complement the original character of the car.”
The partnership will begin with Project Overland, a feasibility study scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2025. This initial phase will involve extensive testing and benchmarking of a Twisted Defender study vehicle, which is expected to appear at The Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace from September 5-7, 2025.
Charles Fawcett, founder and managing director of Twisted Automotive, emphasized his company’s focus on product development as it enters its 25th year of operation. “Twisted, now in its 25th year, has always been heavily focussed on product development, developing the absolute best version of its vehicles,” Fawcett said. “This initial study with the team at Evice will enable Twisted to ensure any future EV offering fits its mantra, ‘The Best, Made Better’.”
Following Project Overland, the companies plan to evaluate electrified powertrains for other models in Twisted’s range, including Range Rover Classic and T-Bug platforms. The collaboration will leverage Evice Technologies’ modular technology to accommodate various vehicle types and specifications.
Pearson noted that the partnership follows Evice’s previous work with Halcyon and demonstrates the company’s technology adaptability. “Following our success with Halcyon, this new partnership with Twisted demonstrates the adaptability of our technology and highlights the global appetite for passion-driven, properly engineered EVs born in Britain,” he said.
The partnership represents Evice Technologies’ expansion as a specialist electric powertrain provider, while offering Twisted Automotive access to electrification technology for its classic vehicle restoration and enhancement business.
