Lotus has announced the Eletre X, a hybrid performance SUV for Europe combining 952 PS from dual PMSM motors with over 1,200 km combined range. Built on 900V architecture with nine-minute 20-80% fast charging and 350 km electric-only range, it launches in Europe in June 2026 with Q4 deliveries.
Lotus has announced the Eletre X, a hybrid performance SUV that will bring the company’s X Hybrid powertrain platform to European customers for the first time, offering a combined system output of 952 PS and a total driving range exceeding 1,200 km (WLTP).
The Shanghai-based electric vehicle division of Lotus revealed the model on March 6, confirming a European market introduction in June 2026 with deliveries expected in Q4 2026. UK customer deliveries are expected to follow shortly afterward.
The X Hybrid platform pairs a 70 kWh battery with a 52-liter fuel tank and operates across three modes: pure battery electric vehicle (BEV), series hybrid, and parallel hybrid. In full-electric mode, the system delivers up to 350 km of range, while the combined electric-and-fuel range tops 1,200 km under WLTP testing conditions.
At the heart of the drivetrain are front and rear permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) producing a combined 700 kW (952 PS) and 935 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 3.3 seconds. Lotus says the system can still deliver approximately 550 kW even at around 20% state of charge (SOC), sustaining performance in demanding driving scenarios.
A 150 kW generator — which Lotus describes as the most powerful hybrid generator in the industry — can produce up to approximately 25 kWh per hour, replenishing the battery on the move and supporting sustained cruising or sudden power demands.
The platform is built on 900V high-voltage architecture with 6C-rate battery cells, enabling DC fast charging from 20% to 80% in approximately nine minutes, subject to charger capability and conditions.
“With For Me, we are proving that advanced technology must serve the drivers, not replace them — delivering constant performance, total control, and real safety in every condition, so that consumers can enjoy the emotion of driving and the confidence of protecting what matters most,” says Qingfeng Feng, chief executive officer of Lotus Tech.
Chassis technology demonstrated on the platform includes a 48V active anti-roll bar delivering up to 1,400 Nm with a target response time of approximately 10 ms and a roll angle target below 1.5°/g. An active rear spoiler operates across four positions, generating up to 120 kg of downforce. Braking is handled by Brembo six-piston front calipers, with a claimed 100-0 km/h stopping distance of 33.9 m. Dual-chamber air suspension with dual-valve dampers and a front double-wishbone layout rounds out the dynamic package.
The powertrain system operates across six defined scenarios — BEV all-wheel drive (AWD), parallel AWD, idle charging, series discharging, series power generation, and parallel power generation — automatically selecting the optimal mode based on speed, SOC, and driver inputs.
Lotus notes that all technical specifications published so far relate to the China-market FOR ME model, which serves as the reference prototype for the X Hybrid technology. Full European specifications for the Eletre X, including confirmed power outputs, WLTP range figures, and chassis configuration, will be published closer to the European launch date.
