Polestar has confirmed a new SUV variant of its Polestar 4 electric vehicle (EV), with sales scheduled to begin on 2 September.
The Polestar 4 SUV joins the existing Polestar 4 coupé, adding what the Swedish electric performance car brand describes as extra storage flexibility and practicality, while retaining the design, performance and sustainability characteristics of the coupé version.
Both the SUV and the latest coupé feature retuned chassis components intended to strengthen the models’ driving dynamics. The vehicles use a 400V architecture, with the rear motor variant offering up to 630km of range under the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), and dual motor models producing up to 544hp.
According to Michael Lohscheller, chief executive at Polestar, the Polestar 4 has built a strong following among buyers seeking distinctive design and performance alongside practicality. “With Polestar 4 SUV, we’re building on that success by offering even more versatility, while staying true to the Polestar 4 character. Wrapped in a stunning design, this is a car I’ve been looking forward to sharing with the world,” he says.
The Polestar 4 SUV will be manufactured in Busan, South Korea, and will be available to order in a majority of Polestar markets. Specific pricing and market availability have not yet been disclosed.
