Siemens has launched Sicharge Flex, a modular EV charging system that can deliver between 480 kW and 1.68 megawatts across multiple charging points with dynamic power allocation.
The system uses a power distribution architecture that routes available capacity to charging outlets based on real-time vehicle demand, delivering power in 80 kW or 120 kW increments. It supports both CCS and MCS charging standards and can provide up to 1,500 amps through MCS dispensers for heavy-duty vehicles including trucks and buses.
“The introduction of Sicharge Flex marks a significant milestone in our journey to build a comprehensive and sustainable E-Mobility ecosystem,” said Markus Mildner, CEO eMobility at Siemens Smart Infrastructure. “This solution embodies our vision for a future where EV charging is not only fast and reliable, but also seamlessly integrated and highly efficient.”
The system achieves power density of up to 656 kW per square metre and uses front-in front-out cooling that allows wall mounting. Dispensers can be positioned up to 300 metres from the central power cabinet and installed on floors, walls or overhead, with footprints of 0.1 square metres for CCS and 0.2 square metres for MCS units.
Siemens has integrated the hardware with its Sifinity Control cloud-based management platform for remote monitoring and configuration. For depot applications, the system connects with DepotFinity energy management software to coordinate fleet charging under limited grid capacity.
OMV has placed an order for the system ahead of general market availability. The charge point operator will install Sicharge Flex at a site in Kufstein, Austria, located on the A12 corridor between Germany and Italy. The location will accommodate passenger cars, trucks and buses, with six charging points in the initial phase expanding to ten following grid upgrades by the local distribution system operator.
“At OMV, our mission is to provide our customers with reliable, high-performance charging infrastructure that meets the demands of modern mobility – today and tomorrow,” said Eric Schulze, Senior Vice President Retail Mobility & Convenience at OMV. “As both a Charge Point Operator and Mobility Service Provider, we are proud to be the first to bring this system into operation.”
Sicharge Flex was presented at Busworld 2025 in Brussels and will be available for purchase in 2026. Target customers include charge point operators, vehicle manufacturers, energy companies and fleet operators.
