Xpeng has announced the updated G6 electric SUV for the UK market, featuring a new all-wheel-drive performance model, advanced 80.8kWh lithium iron phosphate battery technology enabling 12-minute charging from 10 to 80 percent, and comprehensive refinements across design and technology systems.
Chinese EV manufacturer Xpeng has unveiled significant updates to its G6 model for the UK market, introducing enhanced performance capabilities, advanced battery technology, and refined design elements. The launch follows the company’s UK market entry in February 2025.
The updated lineup includes a new all-wheel-drive Performance Black Edition, marking the first time this variant will be available to British drivers. The dual-motor system delivers 358kW of power and 660Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from zero to 62mph in 4.13 seconds. The performance model features distinctive 20-inch black sport alloy wheels, smoked exterior trim, and gray-toned interior upholstery with suede texturing.
A key advancement comes in battery technology, with the G6 now utilizing an 80.8kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that eliminates precious metals including cobalt, nickel, and manganese. The battery system, combined with Xpeng’s 800V high-voltage platform, achieves peak charging power of 451kW and can replenish from 10 to 80 percent capacity in approximately 12 minutes. The manufacturer reports a 30 percent increase in battery lifespan compared to previous generations.
Xpeng has implemented over 20,000 incremental refinements across the vehicle’s systems, addressing chassis tuning, suspension dynamics, powertrain behavior, and noise reduction. A high-efficiency heat pump now comes standard across all trim levels, designed to maintain range efficiency during cold weather conditions common in Britain.
Exterior updates include a full-width 1942mm LED light bar with integrated turn signals, body-colored wheel arches replacing previous black cladding, and a new rear spoiler that adds 5mm to overall length. The vehicle maintains a 0.248 drag coefficient and introduces new color options including Stellar Purple.
Interior enhancements feature wood-grain dashboard trim, upgraded wireless charging panels offering 50W output, and a 9-inch digital rear-view mirror on higher-specification models. Front seats now include heating, ventilation, and massage functions, while cargo capacity remains at 571 liters.
The updated G6 will launch during the first quarter of 2026, with pricing starting at £39,990 for the rear-wheel-drive standard range model, £44,990 for the long-range version, and £49,990 for the all-wheel-drive Performance Black Edition.
