The Omoda E5 is capable of high-speed charging with up to 280 miles of range on a single charge.

Omoda, a new automotive marque has announced their launch in the UK, with a family SUV. The Omoda E5 EV will come with a 61kWh battery with a 204bhp front-mounted electric motor, 280 miles of range and a recharging capacity of 110kW.

The Chinese company successfully launched in 15 markets across Eastern Europe, Central and South America, and Southeast Asia in 2023, which achieved cumulative global export sales of more than 147,000 vehicles. The brand has over 50 retail sites already confirmed across the UK through a network of retail franchise partners, including Listers, Arnold Clark and Greenhous, providing sites from Cornwall to Scotland.

“We’ve been really encouraged by how enthusiastic retailers have been to work with us,” said Cullum Goodson, Network Development Manager for the UK. “We knew from the outset having a physical retail presence would be a key part of our approach in the UK, and with over 50 sites already confirmed pre-launch we’re exactly where we want to be.”

Guided by the principle of “putting users first”, Omoda aims to foster a connection with its UK user base. The brand’s ambition is to support a younger generation of drivers in embracing the concepts of new Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS). In line with advocating low-carbon lifestyles, Omoda has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). This partnership aims to synergise resources and contribute significantly to global green and sustainable development.
