Swedish premium electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar have extended their partnership with CAKE, the Swedish maker of premium lightweight, electric motorcycles, and mopeds, and announced a second iteration of their fully electric moped. The CAKE Makka Polestar edition moped, initially available in 2021 in Polestar Snow matte colour, instantly sold out. The new edition is available in sky colour (first shown on the Polestar electric O2 roadster concept revealed earlier in the year) and adds distinctive Polestar touch and design features, including slim headlight and dampers from high-end suspension company Öhlins, and a detachable rear carrier to use for improved cargo carrying, making the electric commuter even more flexible. It will also be available in North America for the first time.

The urban commuter Makka is one of three different models available from CAKE, the others being the versatile off-roader Kalk and the modular utility bike Ösa. CAKE was identified as one of the world’s most innovative companies by Fast Company in both 2020 and 2021 and received the Time Magazine 100 most important inventions award in 2021.

The CAKE Makka Polestar edition has a top speed of 45 km/h and two ride modes for extended range or balanced performance. It is sold and delivered by CAKE but the Polestar edition is available exclusively to selected Polestar markets via the Polestar Additionals webshop from 14 December 2022, with a retail price of 5,300 EUR/USD.
