Panasonic develops scalable ePowertrain platform

Panasonic has introduced its scalable ePowertrain platform at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The solution for small EV development is designed to contribute to the advancement of automotive electrification.

As global demand for EVs continues to grow, the company has developed a platform suitable for conventional passenger vehicles as well as new types of EVs, such as EV bikes and micro EVs.

Panasonic develops scalable ePowertrain platform

Designed to be energy-efficient and safe, the compact powertrain enables flexible scalability. The development consists of two basic units, including a power unit (with an onboard charger, junction box, inverter and DC-to-DC converter) and a motor unit.

Panasonic claims the platform will reduce costs and lead time for vehicle development by scaling up or down the combination of basic units to meet specific vehicle specifications such as size, speed and torque.
