Return coincides with Nismo brand’s 40th anniversary.

Nissan is reintroducing its Nismo brand to Europe with the launch of the Ariya Nismo, the company’s first fully electric Nismo model in the European market. The announcement comes as the brand celebrates its 40th anniversary, and 30 years in the region.

The Ariya Nismo, based on the 87KWh Ariya e-4orce, features enhanced exterior styling and engineering improvements. The vehicle maintains Nissan’s Japanese-inspired crossover design while incorporating aerodynamic elements to reduce drag and increase downforce at higher speeds.

“We are bringing this exciting brand back into our market with a new and refreshed model,” says Mayra González, Divisional Vice President Marketing & Sales at Nissan Europe. “As we push forward the electrification of our lineup, it’s essential that we continue to offer elite and exciting models to customers and Nismo enthusiasts as well.”

The Ariya Nismo includes Nismo tuning for improved acceleration and control. It features a tuned Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system, high-grip tires, and an enhanced e-4orce all-wheel drive system for better power and torque distribution. The model also offers improved handling and cornering abilities, with fine-tuned brake pads for reliable stopping power in various weather conditions.

Inside, the Ariya Nismo sports a black-based interior with red accents and special Nismo seats inspired by Formula E cars, designed for both comfort and support.

“Ariya Nismo strikes the perfect balance of the immediate response and acceleration of an all-electric car with the mechanical fine-tuning of a sports car,” says González, “Resulting in an outstanding car for day-to-day driving.”

The Ariya Nismo will make its European debut at the upcoming London E-Prix (20-21 July 2024), the final event of the Formula E season. This showcase aligns with Nissan’s involvement in Formula E racing and highlights the company’s efforts to bring electric vehicle technology from the racetrack to public roads.

Nissan plans to release more product updates later this year, with the Ariya Nismo expected to be available for purchase in Europe soon.
