Subaru Europe has announced three electric SUV models for the European market, including the new Uncharted compact SUV, the E-Outback crossover, and an updated version of the existing Solterra. The vehicles are built on Subaru’s e-Subaru Global Platform and will launch in the UK beginning in early 2026.
The Uncharted represents Subaru’s first all-electric compact SUV, featuring three drivetrain configurations. The all-wheel-drive version uses a 77 kWh battery producing 252 kW (344 horsepower) with a range of up to 292 miles and acceleration from zero to 62 mph in 5.0 seconds. The vehicle offers 1,500 kg towing capacity and 210 mm ground clearance.
Two front-wheel-drive versions will also be available, including a long-range model with the same 77 kWh battery providing up to 363 miles of range, and a standard version with a 57.7 kWh battery offering 276 miles of range. All Uncharted models include a 22 kW onboard charger and can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
The E-Outback adapts Subaru’s traditional Outback crossover for electric propulsion, using a 74.7 kWh battery that generates 280 kW (380 horsepower). The vehicle accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds and provides over 279 miles of range. Like the Uncharted, it features all-wheel drive, 210 mm ground clearance, and 1,500 kg towing capacity, along with Subaru’s X-Mode terrain selection system.
The updated Solterra receives hardware and software improvements three years after its initial launch. Power output increases to 252 kW (344 horsepower) from dual electric axles, with battery capacity expanding to 73.1 kWh for more than 310 miles of range. The revised Solterra accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 5.1 seconds and doubles its previous towing capacity to 1,500 kg.
All three models incorporate Subaru’s electric all-wheel-drive system, which distributes torque between front and rear axles through software management. The company will offer front-wheel-drive variants of the Uncharted to provide customers with extended range and lower pricing options.
The vehicles feature updated interior technology including 14-inch infotainment displays, wireless charging capabilities, and enhanced safety systems. The E-Outback offers increased cargo space compared to the Solterra, accommodating four large suitcases.
Subaru plans to launch the Uncharted and updated Solterra in early 2026, with the E-Outback following in summer 2026. The company has not yet announced specific pricing or final specifications for the UK market, stating these details will be released closer to the launch dates.
