Choice of three MGS5 EV models and two battery options available in April

MG Motor UK has announced the launch of its latest electric SUV, the MGS5 EV, set to arrive in the UK next month and across European markets in Quarter 2. The new vehicle will be available in three models: SE Standard Range, SE Long Range, and Trophy Long Range, with prices ranging from £28,495 to £33,495.

The SUV features a dedicated electric vehicle platform with a rear-wheel-drive configuration and a lightweight chassis designed to improve electric range and driving dynamics. Powered by two battery options – 49kWh and 64kWh – the vehicle offers a combined driving range up to 298 miles and rapid charging capabilities that can reach 80 percent in just 24-28 minutes.

“MGS5 EV is an advanced, enjoyable and refined EV,” said David Allison, Head of Product and Planning for MG Motor UK. “MG’s advanced and dedicated EV platform has been further enhanced to create a truly spacious, practical and elegant cabin experience.” The vehicle introduces several technological features, including the iSMART system, which allows drivers to control various vehicle functions through a mobile device, and MG Pilot, a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies.

The interior boasts a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, physical control buttons, and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. The SUV offers substantial cabin space, with 1026mm of headroom for front passengers and 967mm for rear passengers. Boot space ranges from 453 to 1441 liters with rear seats folded.

Performance specifications include a maximum power of 170kW, maximum torque of 350Nm, and acceleration from 0-62mph in as little as 6.3 seconds. The vehicle includes five driving modes: Normal, Sport, Comfort, Snow, and Custom.

The MGS5 EV comes in six color options and is supported by a 7-year/80,000-mile warranty, reinforcing MG’s commitment to the EV market.
