Kia Corporation has unveiled the Vision Meta Turismo electric grand tourer concept at Milan Design Week, making its global public debut. The concept features a gaming-inspired cockpit with haptic analogue controls, a 180-degree rotating passenger seat, augmented reality HUD modes, and an exterior projector for group gaming when parked.
South Korea-headquartered Kia Corporation has presented full details of its Vision Meta Turismo electric grand tourer concept at Milan Design Week, marking the model’s global public debut following an initial reveal in Korea last December to mark the brand’s 80th anniversary.
The concept is on display at Salone dei Tessuti (Via S. Gregorio, 29/A) in Milan alongside a lineup of Kia electric vehicle concept models, with the exhibition open to visitors until Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Karim Habib, executive vice president and head of Kia Global Design, says: “The Vision Meta Turismo marks a significant milestone, demonstrating how Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy also shapes our future vision of mobility. Harmonising the spirit of 1960s long-distance touring with the limitless possibilities of an immersive digital experience, we have created a vehicle that moves beyond the bounds of tradition.”
Externally, the concept uses an extreme cab-forward architecture with a low, wide profile. Kia describes the surfacing as “soft geometric,” with faceted panels and soft transitions creating what it terms a balance between sculptural and technical precision. At the rear, a horizontal ultra-slim LED blade wraps around the rear corners. Design cues from jet aircraft — specifically the canard, a small forward-mounted wing-like projection — are referenced in the structure housing the upper front lamp and rear-view camera.
The interior offers two distinct seating configurations. The driver’s position centers on an ultra-slim instrument cluster and a light frame seat with mesh fabric for airflow, optimized for performance driving. The passenger seat uses the same form language but adopts a lounge-like posture optimized for augmented reality (AR) content via a 3D heads-up display (HUD). When the vehicle is stationary, the passenger seat rotates 180 degrees to allow face-to-face interaction with rear occupants.

A central feature of the cockpit is a set of analogue controllers that interface with digital systems to deliver haptic feedback and physical simulation. These include a joystick-style virtual gear shifter that recreates the sensation of gear changes and generates emotive virtual engine sounds, a launch control and grand tourer (GT) boost button, and a dial for adjusting virtual engine response, suspension sensitivity, and driving feel.
The concept’s steering wheel, inspired by gaming controllers, supports three user experience modes: Speedster, focused on a sensory speed experience via wide-angle AR HUD with dynamic lighting and sound; Dreamer, activating AR HUD and AR glasses overlays in urban environments; and Gamer, enabling virtual racing via the AR HUD and an exterior projector when the vehicle is parked.
Habib adds: “The Vision Meta Turismo is a physical manifestation of Kia’s continuous push forward – bringing together bold design and sophisticated technology – to transform electric mobility into a deeply emotional and engaging experience. This concept embodies Kia’s vision of a future where mobility is not just about the destination, but about creating human-centred spaces that engage, stimulate, and inspire our customers in ways yet to be imagined.”
