The agreement will see TUAL’s battery-buffered DC PowerUp Charger utilise Polarium’s new LFP battery technology for the first time

TUAL, a developer of charging solutions for commercial EVs, has formed a strategic partnership with battery manufacturer Polarium Energy Solutions to deploy charging infrastructure at locations with limited grid access.

Under the agreement announced today, Polarium will supply lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery systems to power TUAL’s PowerUp Charger, a mobile DC charging solution designed for rapid deployment without requiring grid upgrades. This marks the first commercial application of Polarium’s new LFP battery technology.

The collaboration addresses a key challenge facing fleet operators seeking to electrify vehicles in areas where traditional grid connections are either unavailable or prohibitively expensive to establish. TUAL’s system can be deployed and upgraded as needed, while Polarium’s modular battery architecture provides the energy storage necessary for independent operation.

Polarium’s battery systems include monitoring capabilities that provide data on charge status, battery health, and maintenance requirements. The systems also support remote firmware updates and cloud connectivity for operational oversight.

“Partnering with Polarium enables us to integrate smart, safe, and scalable battery intelligence into our grid-constrained EV charging systems,” said Chantal Shearing, VP Product at TUAL. “We’re proud to be the first to deploy their new LFP high-voltage batteries. With their modular design and cloud-connected BMS, we can deliver robust, low-maintenance charging solutions virtually anywhere, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.”

Ulrika Tornerefelt, EVP Business Area C&I at Polarium, said the partnership combines the companies’ respective technologies. “Polarium is thrilled to join forces with TUAL, combining our cutting‑edge battery technology with their pioneering, dependable EV DC chargers,” she said. “Together, we’re enabling clean mobility in places that fleet operators need it most, allowing them to accelerate their shift to electric vehicles with cost-efficient technology, in a way that’s sustainable for their business moving forward.”

The partnership supports TUAL’s strategy of expanding EV charging access in underserved markets where grid infrastructure limitations have previously presented barriers to electric vehicle adoption. The PowerUp Charger incorporates software for predictive maintenance, remote management, and automated diagnostics to optimize operational efficiency.
