On April 22 and 29, Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology International will be hosting a webinar series with Chroma that will focus on four major features – photonics, semiconductor, power, and battery. All of these drive the current autonomous e-mobility industries and are being used all over the world.

Join us for all four informative sessions with Chroma, which will take place at 2:00pm and 3:30pm BST on both days, by clicking here.

Alternatively, register for individual sessions, listed below:

Session 1: Optoelectronics in Automotive Applications

About:

The automotive industry is facing a turning point with the rise of EV and autonomous driving. Aside from the battery, powertrain electronic and photoelectronics components/modules also play important roles when the industry is moving toward this big trend.

This talk will address various application scenarios such as headlamp, in-cabin control/display, 3D sensing for autonomous. After elaborating on the pros & cons and characteristics of photoelectronics devices used in said applications, it will cover test concerns and solutions available at Chroma.

You will learn:

  1. The role of photoelectronics in modern automotive design.
  2. Competing technologies and their pros & cons.
  3. Design concerns when using photoelectronics devices.
  4. Application/technology dependent testing parameters of photoelectronics devices.
  5. Chroma’s solutions and services.

When: Thursday April 22, 2021, starting at 2:00 PM BST

Session 2: IC Testing Trend in Automotive Applications

About:

Automotive IC applications have always played an important role in the field of IC testing. Thermal control accuracy and range are driving us to develop our work more and more precisely. IC test handling platforms are also widely requested to decrease our footprint and consumed parts.

Explore how Chroma deals with IC test requirements by developing our own technologies. Furthermore, we will also share the challenges currently faced and how we seek to overcome them in the near future.

You will learn:

  1. Liquid-less thermal control unit and how its design concept supports wide temperature range and accuracy
  2. CRF solutions for the high contact force demand from bigger DUTs
  3. Dual force ideas to deal with bare die packages, such as CoWoS and InFO
  4. Handler compatible for both FT and SLT
  5. Roadmap of future product development

When: Thursday April 22, 2021, starting at 3:30 PM BST

Session 3: The Revolution of E-Mobility Charging Test Solutions

About:

Fast charging or high power charging has become a vital solution to shortening the charging time of electric vehicles. However, safety issues in the charging status is one of the most important topics at the moment.

Power delivery to the AC charger will be more popular on ~22kW, and ~350kW for the DC charger in the future. This means the conformance and safety testing of OBC, EVSE, and EV should become a larger concern for all component suppliers or automotive OEM companies.

You will learn:

(1) Global e-mobility trends and new EV charging technologies

(2) Testing and design concerns during EVSE and OBC (on board charger) product development

(3) Standard test requirements and interoperability issues for the EV and EVSE

(4) Key features of Chroma e-mobility charging test solutions and services

When: Thursday April 29, 2021, starting at 2:00 PM BST

Session 4: Introduction in Battery Test Technologies and Solutions

About:

The recent growth and expansion of the electrical transportation market has escalated the needs for better cells and batteries with a common goal — improved performance, range, and cost.

These devices must be of high quality and meet the demands for power, energy density, safety, and durability. Battery manufacturers require cost optimization as well as procedures and tests to improve performance of their products.

For these reasons, more comprehensive and efficient tests on battery cells, modules and packs must be carried out to ensure successful design and production.

You will learn:

(1) Interpretation for battery testing concerns and requirements with proper way and advanced technology.

(2) Interpretation for safer, efficient, and easy operation methodology for battery testing.

(3) Introduction to Chroma battery cell, module, and pack testing turnkey solutions and services.

When: Thursday April 29, 2021, starting at 3:30 PM BST
